"I Love Rock 'n Roll" fue originalmente grabada y lanzada por The Arrows en 1975, bajo la discográfica RAK Records, y producida por Mickie Most. No tuvo éxito. Tampoco la primera versión que hizo Joan Jett.
En 1982, Jett re-grabó la canción, esta vez, con su banda The Blackhearts, fue entonces cuando la canción se transformó en nº 1.

Canción con la que se presentó Noruega en 2013 en el concurso de Eurovision cantada por Margaret Berger. Esta canción podría pasar perfectamente por una de Evanescence o Within Temptation si tuviese un sonido más endurecido, aun siendo "suave" tiene ese halo de frialdad/oscuridad nórdica.
