#29 Everyone should be able to access the Internet - it changes lives. Every country has a different system, so it's hard to come up with a universal solution. But in the US we are working for more affordable local access projects. And everyone in their own country should also work towards the best system for their citizens. #2 I have an iPhone. I have Signal for messaging, and I keep location tracking off most of the time, even though it’s less convenient. I also don’t have many apps. I wish I could trust more apps to protect my privacy, but I’ve found it’s easiest just to keep them off my phone. #34 Every website should be able to set its own policies. I prefer websites that protect - and celebrate - anonymous comments. But many sites believe that anonymous comments bring down the level of debate. These sites can make their own choices, and users can decide if they want to stay, or go elsewhere. But remember, if you allow anonymous use, you are protecting your users. You allow them to express themselves without fear of retaliation. You allow them to share private thoughts about their health or things they may not want to share publicly.

#20 Online advertisers are getting increasingly sneaky. Often we don’t know what data they collect, or where they sell or trade it. Of course it’s fine to advertise online, but companies should be transparent about when they are tracking you and collecting information. At first, advertisers might give you a coupon or other good deal, based on your shopping habits, but you never know when this information might be used against you.

The beautiful part of the Internet is that one small idea, or project, or business, can become a worldwide success on its own merits. You don’t need to be rich or powerful to spread the word. If ISPs and others create fast lanes or other preferential treatment, then the businesses winning now will always be the winners, and the next great idea may never break through. That’s not the Internet I want. In the US, we won the battle over fast lanes - the government has ruled against them. Now we need to stay vigilant and make sure it enforces the law.

#1 This is a very hard problem that the US and the EU are working very hard to solve although so far, not very well. And of course, the US should stop its dangerous surveillance program that illegally collects data on people around the world.

#7 I think everyone should able to browse the Internet anonymously! It's such a great resource for learning about things, and exploring ideas that you aren't ready to share with the world. Non-anonymous browsing allows tracking, which just helps advertisers and other profilers. We should all have a right to have intellectual freedom while exploring online.
¡Creo que todo el mundo debería poder navegar de forma anónima!
